Levi Kaminkowitz is an award winning filmmaker and professional artist. The arts have always been a huge part of Levi’s life. From a very young age he began drawing and painting and at the age of 14 he had his first solo art exhibition. Since he has continued to do solo exhibitions, commissions, and sell his work. Levi has worked in the film industry since 2007. In 2008 he graduated from The Los Angeles Film School majoring in Directing, Screenwriting, and Cinematography. Along with painting and filmmaking he is also a musician and plays piano, drums, guitar, banjo, sings, and song writes.
Levi grew up on The Mendocino Coast of Northern California. He is the son of internationally acclaimed artist Erin Dertner. In his parent’s art gallery displaying Erin’s prints and originals he has worked as picture framer, curator, fine art printer, and shipment manager. Currently Levi is located in Los Angeles. Though Dertner is Levi’s legal last name, he has chosen to go by Kaminkowitz, his family’s authentic name.
